February tends to be the first big month for Movie releases of the year. In 2017, that appears to be the case once again, depending on what your genre of movie is and how much you appreciate franchise films since there are several of them coming. These are the best movies coming to a theater near you in February.

4. 'Fist Fight'

This film will be tough for anyone who finds "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia" star Charlie Day more grating than humorous. Day and Ice Cube (not dissimilar from his "21 Jump Street" role) will do battle as high school teachers.

The real reason "Fist Fight" makes the list is a hopeful coming-out party for Tracy Morgan as he tries to get back into comedy following his devastating car accident. The movie will be released on February 10, 2017.

3. 'The Great Wall'

"The Great Wall" isn't without its controversy - there does seem to be whitewashing with Matt Damon doing battle in China. Hopefully, the premise will solve that issue pretty cleanly, as it's supposed to be a beautifully-shot action flick. The movie will be released on February 17, 2017.

2. 'Fifty Shades Darker'

Nobody really wants to see this film, but those who made it through the first chapter are going to have to go along for the next ride. The trailer looks pretty dark, with some sort of stalker storyline haunting the sultry pair.

There also seems to be a noticeable lack of any real plot or direction in the trailer, which should probably come as little surprise to the readers of the books. This installment will be hitting theaters on February 10, 2017.

1. 'The LEGO Batman Movie'

The original "LEGO Movie" hit the nail on the head in terms of animated films.

The voice cast was pristine, the animation was lively, and the humor was appropriate for kids and adults alike. If there was a direction to take the franchise forward, it was with Batman, who is being properly voiced by Will Arnett. This could be one of the best-animated films of the year. The latest LEGO installment will be released on February 10, 2017.
