Maksim Chmerkovskiy and Peta Murgatroyd recently welcomed their baby Shai to the world and now they have just shared some additional big news. Both Maks and Peta will be returning to “Dancing With The Stars” this spring and “DWTS” fans cannot wait to watch them.
'DWTS' will see Maks and Peta battle on stage again
Usually, the show stays pretty tight-lipped about the casting for the next season ahead of the formal announcement. “Dancing With the Stars” spoilers usually emerge anyway, but this time ABC decided to take the bull by the horns and reveal this big news separately from the rest of the Season 24 news.
Maksim Chmerkovskiy and Peta Murgatroyd appeared on “Good Morning America” Tuesday to share the big news.
As “DWTS” fans know, it has been a while since Peta and Maksim were on a season together. Chmerkovskiy left the show a while back, insisting that he was done as a pro, but then he came back to “Dancing With the Stars” last season and partnered with Amber Rose. However, Murgatroyd took the season off because of her pregnancy. As Maks noted on “GMA,” the last time they were on at the same time was when he won the show with partner Meryl Davis in Season 18.
As People noted, Peta is a bit nervous about returning to “Dancing With the Stars” this spring, as she just had baby Shai on January 4. Murgatroyd says that she's anxious to get her body back, and of course, the show will help a lot with that, and she adds that she's missed the show.
The “DWTS” pro also teased that she has to defend her title, as she most recently won the coveted mirror-ball trophy with Nyle DiMarco in Season 22 last spring.
What other pro 'DWTS' spoilers are available?
What else is known about the pro slate for “Dancing With the Stars” Season 24? As PureDWTS notes, Derek Hough will not be in the mix this spring, but nobody else has been fully confirmed as of yet.
However, it is very likely that Val Chmerkovskiy, Sharna Burgess, Witney Carson, and Lindsay Arnold will be back.
What about Allison Holker, Mark Ballas, Tony Dovolani, Artem Chigvintsev, Sasha Farber, Emma Slater, Gleb Savchenko, and some of the other recent “DWTS” professionals? The official announcement regarding the Season 24 “Dancing With the Stars” cast is set to be revealed on “GMA” on March 1, so more spoilers should begin to emerge soon.
