With less than a week to go before the "Dancing With The Stars" 2017 cast is formally unveiled during "Good Morning America," the identities of the first two celebrity contestants are at long last out in the open. According to a Feb. 23 ET exclusive, iconic actor Mr. T and Rio Olympics super star Simone Biles will both show off their fancy footwork in the "DWTS" ballroom when season 24 premieres March 20 on ABC.
Biles a 'DWTS' season 24 ringer?
If she does indeed join the "Dancing with the Stars' 2017 lineup, the 19-year old Biles will likely enter the season as the favorite to take the Mirrorball Trophy, as her Final Five teammate Laurie Hernandez did alongside pro Valentin Chmerkovskiy last fall.
Her participation wouldn't be a surprise, as she'd previously expressed interest in taking part in the show. In fact, she even tipped her pro partner preference when she told ET last summer that she'd like to compete with Sasha Farber.
Mr. T ready to bring his A game to 'Dancing with the Stars' season 24?
Mr. T, whose real name is Laurence Tureaud, is a former professional wrestler who starred in the hit 1980s TV show "The A-Team," and more recently, in a series of ads for Fuze Iced Tea. At 64, he's likely to be one of season 24's more senior contestants.
Given that recent spring seasons of "DWTS" have featured a total of 13 celebrity contestants each, fans can likely expect the identities of 11 other celebrity Mirrorball Trophy hopefuls to surface as the week progresses and as the March 1 reveal date nears.
In pro coach lineup news, new parents Peta Murgatroyd and Maksim Chmerkovskiy made headlines earlier this week when they revealed via "Good Morning America" that they'd both be returning for a go at the title. The news was surprising to some "Dancing with the Stars" fans, as the 30-year old Murgatroyd gave birth to son Shai just last month, and Chmerkovskiy had publicly stated that he had no interest in returning for season 24.
