Viewers will watch the People's Choice Awards 2017 show on Wednesday night just days ahead of the live Presidential Inauguration for Donald Trump. The annual awards show will be hosted by Joel McHale of "Community" fame with jabs at the incoming president likely to be among his presentation. Among the performers will be Blake Shelton and Fifth Harmony, but who will be among tonight's winners? Here's a look at how to watch the 2017 People's Choice Awards live streaming online or via television, and some of the frontrunners among the nominees.

Top nominees & performers

Tonight marks the 43rd edition of the People's Choice Awards show and the first hosting gig for Joel McHale. The former host of E!'s "Soup" and actor from "Community" will be on hand to keep the crowd laughing and move the show along between the performances and award winners' speeches.

Just two musical performers are listed for tonight's show with pop group Fifth Harmony and country singer Blake Shelton scheduled to perform on stage. That's likely because of the fact there are so many awards to give out which range from music to movies to television and social media.

Leading the way for nominees is the movie "Captain America: Civil War" with a total of seven nominations including "Favorite Movie" and "Favorite Action Movie." Comedian and actor Kevin Hart received a total of five nominations, as did the television show "Grey's Anatomy," while the movie "Zootopia" has four total potential awards it can win.

The best part of this awards show is that it is for the people and by the people. Viewers vote on the winners who will receive tonight's trophies in the various categories for "PCA" awards.

While "Captain America" leads all nominees, many people believe that "Deadpool" starring Ryan Reynolds will win the award for "Favorite Movie.

Reynolds is a longshot to win favorite movie actor behind other top male actors including Will Smith, Kevin Hart and Tom Hanks. Meanwhile, Jennifer Lawrence is probably a good choice to win the female equivalent: "Favorite Movie Actress" award.

For "Favorite TV Show," "The Big Bang Theory" seems like the choice to win, but could "Grey's" or "Walking Dead" snag the prize?

In addition, Drake and Rihanna lead as top contenders for "Favorite Male" and "Favorite Female" artist awards, while The Chainsmokers may be top choice in "Favorite Group" category.

The NFL Super Bowl 2017 halftime show performer Lady Gaga is considered a top favorite along with Kim Kardashian in the "Favorite Social Media Celebrity" category.
