Nicki Minaj and Meek Mill are officially no more according to the rapper, singer, and songwriter. Minaj, who has always been very matter-of-fact when it comes to most everything, left no doubt that she was single again in one of her most recent Twitter posts. Nicki said, “To confirm, yes I am single. Focusing on my work & looking forward to sharing it with you guys really soon. Have a blessed New Year. Love U.”
This has clarified what many thought to be the case. Just a few days ago. Meek Mill posted a picture of a ring on his Instagram account with the words “meekmill 2017 new start!” TMZ reported that the former lovebirds spent the Christmas holiday apart.
Furthermore, the site reported that on New Year’s Eve Nicki Minaj and Meek Mill had gone out of their way to avoid one another.
Minaj and Mill’s relationship began in 2015
Meek Mill spent few months in prison for violating probation that stemmed from a gun and drug charge in 2008. He was released in December 2014. Early in 2015, Nicki and Meek were linked romantically. Mill was again picked up for violating his probation, and Nicki appeared on his behalf in December 2015. In her testimony, she stated, “He doesn’t have a lot of structure. He can be irresponsible. Since I’ve come in his life, I think I’ve been working on that a little bit.” What she said worked, and Mill was given 90 days of house arrest.
His probation was also extended six years, but he was not taken back to jail.
Nicki Minaj is moving on in 2017
It’s safe to say that the most likely, Minaj will be the least affected by the break-up. While dates have yet to be announced for 2017, the Pinkprint Tour is expected to continue. However, one could expect special guest Meek Mill not to be a part of it.
Minaj, along with Ariana Grande are nominated for Best Music Video for their song “Side to Side” at the upcoming 2017 iHeartRadio Music Awards. The Awards can be seen on TBS, March 8.
