Tollywood audiences, on this Pongal, are witnessing the clash of the Titans, as Chiranjeevi's "Khaidi No 150" and Nandamuri Balakrishna's "Gautamiputra Satakarni" are competing for each other to emerge as the winners at the box-office.

As per latest updates, on Saturday, Balakrishna movie made better collections than the Chiranjeevi movie in the United States box-office.

US box-office collections

On Saturday, "Gautamiputra Satakarni" collected $197,000 from the United States theatres, while "Khaidi No 150" managed to gross $147,000.

Another Telugu movie, "Shatamanam Bavati" is also collecting well from the US, and it earned more than $90,000 from the US.

When we consider the overall collection of these movies in the United States, it can be learned that "Khaidi No 150" is standing tall, as it grossed $1,898,700, while "Gautamiputra Satakarni" made $866,910.

Trade experts believe that it is the unanimously positive reviews from the audiences, which is helping "Gautamiputra Satakarni" to pose a serious threat to "Khaidi No 150".

The Nandamuri Balakrishna starrer grossed $373,113 in the premier show in the US, and thus it emerged as the biggest ever opener for the actor in the country.

In India too, these movies are faring well; competing each other to reach the record milestones in skyrocketing speed. "Khaidi No 150" is already very close to the Rs 100 Crore club, and as of January 15, 2017, it has collected 96 Crores.

On the other hand, The Chiru starrer has grossed an overall collection of Rs 61 Crores.

'Gautamaputra Satakarni' v 'Kaidi no 150'

V V Vinayak has directed "Khaidi No 150". A remake of the Tamil blockbuster "Kaththi", the film is about the journey of a man who saves a village alone from the clutches of water mafia.

"Gautamiputra Satakarni" directed by Krish revolves around the life of a daring warrior who aims to bring various provinces under the rule of the Satavahani Kingdom.

The major highlight of this movie is the power-packed performance of Balakrishna, his grace and excellent screen presence.
