“Arrow” fans should set those DVRs – the season 5 midseason finale is shaping up to be a can’t-miss event. Airing just a week after the series' milestone 100th episode, “What We Leave Behind” will address the elephant in the room. Artemis (Madison McLaughlin) was MIA during this week’s epic DC crossover, but rest assured that Team Arrow’s wayward archer will find pride of place in episode 9.
What is Artemis planning on ‘Arrow’?
It is times like these when ABC’s “Secrets and Lies” would do well to lend its title to the CW’s hooded vigilante. Oliver Queen (Stephen Amell) has surrounded himself with secrets over the last 10 years, and, now that Evelyn Sharp has whittled through the Arrow’s mendacious ways to discover the truth behind his season 1 crusade, those lies have pushed one of his own right into Prometheus’ waiting arms.
Will Team Arrow cotton on to Evelyn’s true allegiance during the midseason finale? Amell weighed in following a week of crossovers.
“I can tell you that Artemis plays a big, big part in our fall finale, which airs this Wednesday,” the actor said on Facebook. “It’s probably the episode that I’m most proud of this year.”
The script literally elicited a gasp from Amell back in October, and now the archer is entreating viewers “for god’s sake, do not miss the last scene.”
‘Arrow’ gains a new resolve
Oliver’s trip into the Dominator’s matrix elicited more than a few tears. Despite this, experiencing an alternate timeline has imbued his life with new meaning. It is this resolve will carry the “Arrow” squad through Prometheus’ next assault.
“We see a little of the repercussion in next week’s episode, but I think, overall, having that experience give him a little bit of closure,” Amell mused. “But I don’t know. We’ll have to see through the second half of the season.”
