Odds are looking much better that Donald Trump could resign before actually being shoved out. According to Newsweek, Trump’s ghostwriter, Tony Schwartz, thinks Donnie might resign sooner than everyone thought. I will try to contain my excitement long enough to write a piece about it. That is not sarcasm. I, like probably many of you, am incredibly excited. I have my dance party ready to go off in the streets at a moment’s notice! But let’s let calmer heads prevail for a while longer, shall we?
Is Donald Trump’s White House a daycare or an insane asylum?
To be honest, I have my doubts that a man like Trump will ever resign. He is arrogant and prideful to the point of megalomania. Of course, as the world now knows, his pride is more than a little unwarranted. I suspect that, rather than resigning, the Secret Service would have to forcibly remove him from The White House, kicking and screaming like a baby.
I’m sure I am not the only one that has ever realized that in Trump’s younger days, though still a bigot, he appeared to be considerably saner and/or more stable. I’m not sure if it is senility, insanity, or both, but I just do not believe that you can predict his behavior. Everything Donald Trump does is, ‘off the cuff’.
Watching him give a speech, as he wanders from the script, is like watching a 12-year-old give a speech!
Are Republicans getting ready to jump ship?
According to Irish bookmaker Paddy Power, large bets are being placed that The Donald will resign. Of course, the odds are still better for him being impeached. However, with Republicans controlling so much of the government, it just seems unlikely, anytime soon at least.
Still, after the debacle in Charlottesville, many more of them seem willing to speak out against him in more critical terms. History has shown that also means very little since Republicans have been known to say one thing and do very different things.
Trump has lost a great deal of support from the business world. Multiple business advisory panels have been disbanded. Corporate leaders decided that they would rather not be associated with someone that defends Neo-Nazis.
He has lost much of his staff to either Resignation or involuntary termination.
The cohesion of The White House is now precarious, at best. Anyone with half a brain would know to abandon a sinking ship. It seems that Donald is just closing his eyes tightly and waiting for everything to stop. Unfortunately for him, that doesn’t appear to be happening. The ship is sinking. The Donald Trump house of cards is falling. Now it’s just a matter of how it will transpire. Hopefully, it will be sooner than later.
