President Trump's Secret Service detail has reportedly been moved out of Trump Tower in New York (according to the Trump Organization). The Washington Post reported last week that the Trump Organization and the government's General Services Administration (GSA) had a mutual dispute over the lease agreement. The organization's spokeswoman Amanda Miller said that the Secret Service would have to find accommodations elsewhere.

Secret Service cover a lot of ground for Trump

It was reportedly within the first several months of Donald Trump's presidency that the Secret Service had submitted a budget proposal to the Office of Management and Budget to get more funding to protect President Trump.

Along with his Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida, the Trump National Golf Club in Bedminster, New Jersey, the White House, and everyone in his family, Trump Tower was another location and logistical nightmare for his tax-payer protection to cover.

The budget proposal detailed that the Secret Service would need money to build infrastructure in Trump Tower for their operation. But there was also no indication that President Trump would reduce the fees for Secret Service to stay there, which is typical for Donald Trump to do as he isn't known to be very charitable. One of the reasons for this is due to the fact that the money that comes from the Secret Service staying at Trump brand locations ends up coming back to Trump himself.

Even president's protection has to pay

There have already been several lawsuits filed against the president as a result of he and his family not distancing themselves from their businesses enough. As President-elect, the billionaire said that he is excluded from having to divest from his businesses as a president. At the time he had even said that he would be able to run his businesses and be president at the same time.

The president finally "agreed" to divest from his properties only to hand them over to his immediate family, his sons.

In this case, he would be able to return to those businesses immediately but there is no reason to think that he hasn't already done this. His wife Melania and his son Barron reportedly moved from the tower to the White House last month.

But the President's security was still working out of the floor immediately under the President's living space after they left. Its been reported that the agency relocated outside of the tower with no indication that they will be moving back inside. The president is currently on vacation at his golf club in New Jersey, where he has Secret Service protection as well.
