Andrew Wiggins has improved a lot since entering the league. His game has flourished playing for the Minnesota Timberwolves and being traded away from the Cleveland Cavaliers years ago. In my opinion, Wiggins has showed a lot of talent and he deserves a max contract from the team.

In fact, the Minnesota Timberwolves look like a playoff team going into next season with their acquisitions over the offseason. The future is bright for the team as they have many young stars, although they also have some veteran players too.

A deal is on the horizon

There were rumors that Kyrie Irving would be traded to the Timberwolves for Andrew Wiggins, as the Cavaliers would give Wiggins a second chance.

Unfortunately for the Cavaliers, the trade will not happen.

It would be smart for the Wolves to lock up Wiggins to a max deal or extension. He has proven his worth as a franchise player for the organization. The team could reach another level with him on it. A max deal could be on the horizon in due time for the star guard. He already is a star in his own right.

His versatility

The Kansas product is able to shoot all around the perimeter. This is one aspect that he has improved in his game. The player can shoot mid-range jumpers, drive to the rim, and shoot from the three-point line. He is also only 22 years of age, so he could improve his game even more.

His averages last season speak for itself.

Wiggins averaged close to 24 points per game, along with 2 assists, and 4 rebounds. He has developed into a pure offensive threat. The team would surely not be as good without his presence. He could improve in defense, but he is still a young player.

Offensive weapons

The team made sure to get some great talent in the offseason.

The organization did a terrific job in improving their team and in getting highly skilled players. The team acquired Jeff Teague from the Indiana Pacers and he is an improvement at the point guard position over Ricky Rubio in scoring.

They also got a great veteran off the bench in Jamal Crawford to score much-needed points and a player with great playoff experience.

They also have another veteran with playoff experience in Taj Gibson.

And lastly one of the biggest acquisitions for them was the addition of Jimmy Butler. They got a good steal in bringing him in and not losing valuable assets. They gave away a player coming off of ACL surgery in Zach Levine, rookie Kris Dunn, along with a draft pick.

The Wolves have other existing valuable players in Karl-Anthony Towns and Gorgui Dieng. Towns is a good post-up player and shooter that has also been improving. I think he is a bit underrated for what he can do on the floor.

The Minnesota Timberwolves look great going into the upcoming season and they will most likely reach the playoffs ending a drought. They are headed into a good direction and they could look even better after signing Andrew Wiggins to a max deal for their future.
