The Tribeca Film Festival 2017 is in full swing. I thought I would share a List Of Films I’ve seen so far at the festival.

The library of short films I’ve seen

"Again"

Again is a short film about a man obsessed with the 1992 Bill Murray film, “Groundhog Day.” This guy is living in a sad situation because he had a stroke and doesn’t remember his wife Abby who makes him dinner, and all he does is sit on the couch glued to his TV watching the same film over and over again! Not a fan of this film! Directed by Alex Jacknow. Cast: Aubrey Dollar, Morrison Keddie.

"Approaching A Breakthrough"

This short film is hysterically funny, so true to life, and spot on! It’s another short film about a guy who had a stint living in Los Angeles and moves to New York. He fights with his girlfriend in New York’s Central Park and has run-ins with people he knew from his past. He can’t seem to face his problems and runs away from them. It's a very clever, witty comedy film. Director: Noah Pritzker. Cast: Kieran Culkin, Mae Whitman, Chip Zien Jeanine Serralles, Justine Lupe, Sharon Washington.

"The Spring"

This is the best short film I’ve seen. It’s about a group of seven filmmakers all under the age of 25 who travel to Central Florida to film a documentary on the “Mermaids” of Weeki Wachee Springs.

They put on "mermaid" shows for tourists. The interviews with these women are fascinating, along with seeing how they manage to pull it off and use their aquatic skills in their everyday lives. Director: Delaney Buffett.

Red carpet premiere: ‘Get Me Roger Stone’

"Get Me Roger Stone" (Netflix)

I went to the red carpet premiere of “Get Me Roger Stone” recently and loved it!

Roger Stone made a surprise appearance and I spotted him by the theater entrance as I exited the theater. The film is about the man Roger Stone, a political strategist who they call “a conspiracy theorist” and a “dirty trickster" and how he got involved with the whole political machine and Trump being elected as President of the United States. Director: Dylan Bank, Daniel Dimauro, Morgan Pehme. Executive Producer: Blair Foster. Cast: Roger Stone, Donald Trump, Alex Jones.
