The dumbing down and domination of public education by liberal professors at public colleges is becoming an economic and academic plague on America’s institutions of higher learning. Since violence rocked the University of Missouri in 2015 and 2016, its four campuses across the state have experienced a $9 million drop in tuition revenue. Now, University of California’s berkeley campus is a hot spot for violence and stands accused of discriminating against campus conservatives and speakers, and silencing free speech after canceling conservative pundit Ann Coulter’s speaking engagement.
Berkeley only blocks conservatives
Earlier this year a scheduled speech by conservative writer Milo Yiannopoulos was similarly canceled by Berkeley administrators amid violent protests of his appearance. Critics say the school is telling security to back off when conservatives speak, leaving events vulnerable to violence from outside agitators and liberal groups on campus. Berkeley, a publicly funded school, never canceled Louis Farrakhan and other controversial leftist speakers. Even though Coulter did not speak or set foot on campus Thursday, protests persisted. At the same time, parents are speaking out against campus violence and searching for safer, more tolerant educational options for college-bound offspring.
Violence by association at liberal schools
Violence and liberalism run amok on university campuses, threatening to overflow into society because free speech on college grounds, critics argue, only applies to liberal speakers who espouse partisan politics often instilled in students by liberal professors. Free speech and conservatism are essentially banned at many colleges, which is contrary to everything the U.S.
Constitution stands for. Meanwhile, Mizzou campuses in Columbia, St. Louis, Kansas City and Rolla are already paying a severe price for violent campus activism perpetrated by militant liberals. Berkeley and other violent liberal institutions may soon find they are no longer immune to shunning by parents who believe colleges should represent and support free speech for conservatives and liberals alike.
Talkmasters condemn Berkeley
On Fox News, Jesse Watters said Berkeley's cancellations of conservative speakers is purely political since liberal comedian Bill Maher and other liberal activists speakers never get cancelled. Kimberly Guilfoyle said the militants are "storm troopers of the left "these are anarchists," Bob Beckel, a liberal at Fox, said, "Coulter has a right to speak wherever she is invited."
