On September 30, award-winning actress and veteran entertainer Betty Buckley played at the Landmark on Main Street in Port Washington on Long Island. This show was a part of the "Dim the Light Series," and executive director Laura Mogul made the opening remarks, welcoming the fans to the venue. Mogul went on to thank the sponsors that made this event possible which included Susan Isaacs and Elkan Abramowitz, Jane and Martin Schwartz, as well as Judith and Morton Sloan.

Buckley has been hailed as "The Voice of Broadway," and in 2012, she was inducted into the Theatre Hall of Fame. She won the Tony award for her portrayal of Grizabella in Andrew Lloyd Webber's "Cats."

Betty Buckley's set-list

She opened her show with a rendition of "The Way You Look Tonight," where she was accompanied by the ever-talented Christian Jacob on piano. Buckley continued with "All Things in Time," and she greeted the audience at the venue for being with her. Equally marvelous was her version of Radiohead's "High and Dry," which she made her own. It was great to hear the Tony-winning actress perform "Chanson," and she followed it up with "You've Got To Be Carefully Taught" from the award-winning musical "South Pacific." She continued with "Cassandra" and the new song "Old Flame," which was written by Joe Iconis. All of the songs showcased her wide range as a recording artist and theater performer.

Buckley paid homage to Country #Music Hall of Famer Emmylou Harris by singing "Prayer in Open D," which was simply divine. She then gave the spotlight to her gifted pianist, where he played the theme song of the new motion picture "Sully," starring Tom Hanks, where he wrote its musical score. She closed by singing a song from her latest studio effort, "Ghostlight," as well as Peter Gabriel's "Don't Give Up."

Conclusion

In summation, Betty Buckley and Christian Jacob were both superb in Port Washington at the Landmark on Main Street. They had the crowd every step of the way, as they performed these classic songs, as well as newer material. They are worth seeing live whenever they are in the area. They earned two thumbs up. #Celebrities
