Ah yes. The Notorious RBG -- otherwise known as Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsberg -- is the outspoken liberal voice who finally took a stand this year, when she went after Donald Trump. A voice desperately needed to call out the Republican-led opposition of an unprecedented eight-years of obstruction, against a liberal administration and the American people who elected it twice. Her attack on the Republican candidate -- saying that he would be a terrible president; was especially necessary to pad the exit of President Obama, who has served as the target and the reason as to why a conservative-led House will not hold hearings for a replacement Justice he picked, after the unexpected passing of "Constitutionalist" Justice Antonin Scalia in February.
Then Notorious RBG 'tackled' 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick
Obviously, something had to be said and so the Notorious RBG was the one who did, as the Republicans "reluctantly" supported their incendiary nominee Donald Trump, it was enough cause for Ginsberg to go after him and much to our joy; it was great to see him draw fire from a liberal Justice, who sits on the highest court in the nation. But very recently, Notorious RBG also took a shot at a figure, #Liberals and progressives have sided with named Colin Kaepernick -- a quarterback for the for the San Francisco 49ers -- who "patriotically" protested against the national anthem. Showing his opposition to a nation divided with too many people siding with police violence against unarmed blacks. Certainly, taking a stand -- no matter how 'blown out of proportion' it might have seemed, is something liberals and progressives believe the Notorious RBG should certainly get behind.
So it was a shock when she went after Kaepernick during a interview for her new book, calling his protest 'stupid' for which she is now apologizing for. Which is why at this point, she is no longer credible as a liberal voice. One source publishing her apology is CNN. “Some of you have inquired about a book interview in which I was asked how I felt about Colin Kaepernick and other NFL players who refused to stand for the national anthem. Barely aware of the incident or its purpose, my comments were inappropriately dismissive and harsh. I should have declined to respond.” Sadly, Ruth Bader Ginsberg had also apologized for her attack on Donald Trump soon after she made it, which only gave him more respect than he is due.
'Notorious RBG' is becoming more 'notorious' for apologizing
A greater problem is that Notorious RBG attacking and apologizing more than once -- recently on an issue she should side with; is a deal-breaker with liberals. It gives conservatives reason to attack us for everything we stand for, which is why this election year has gotten as ugly as it has.
According to Mercury News, the 49ers' Kaepernick was quoted as expressing disappointment. "It is disappointing to hear a Supreme Court justice call a protest against injustices and oppression ‘stupid, dumb’ in reference to players doing that. I was reading an article and it refers to white critique of black protests and how they try to de-legitimize it by calling it 'idiotic, dumb, stupid,' things of that nature, so they can sidestep the real issue. As I was reading that I saw more and more truth how this had been approached by people in power and white people in power in particular." Using no restraint to attack a vile candidate is one thing, but against a liberal symbol as effective as Kaepernick? Despite the apology, it might be time to position a replacement for the Notorious RBG too. #colinkaepernick #NotoriousRBG
