As the 2016 presidential election careens toward a close, America is becoming more and more concerned about #Donald Trump's affiliation with God, and where he really stands on Christianity. The same issue is not an issue at all for Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton. But to be fair, no one really expects her to be a #God-fearing woman.
Donald Trump is the best hope for the future
Christians are not the only ones who view Donald Trump as the best candidate to bring America back to her glory days, but some, especially Evangelicals, question Trump's sincerity in regard to his belief in Jesus Christ.
Last year, David Brody of the Christian Broadcasting Network conducted an interview with the GOP nominee specifically on this topic. "Who is God to you?" Brody asked, and Donald Trump seemed to glow with enthusiasm as he explained his feelings.
"Well I say God is the ultimate," The Donald said. "I mean God created this (points to his golf course and nature surrounding it), and here's the Pacific Ocean right behind us. So nobody, no thing, no there's nothing like God." Watch the full interview with Trump in the video below.
Donald Trump's vision echoes our forefathers
NPR reports that the GOP presidential nominee not only wants to "Make America Great Again", but also wants to unite the United States once again under "one God".
This politically incorrect idea has outraged many who believe it will somehow negate other religions, or subject them to persecution. The truth is that our nation was founded on the belief in Jesus Christ, and for 200 plus years this worked out just fine. Even so, America has always promoted religious freedom.
The idea that God does not belong in schools, or anywhere else for that matter, is a fairly new one. And it seems our country has deteriorated ever since. We need someone like Donald Trump, who is a strong leader, a proponent of inviting God back into our lives, and concerned for the future of our people.
We cannot continue to go on as we have been and expect America to bounce back. Our country is sick. Our people are sick. Donald Trump is the physician. God truly is the ultimate, and we need a president who recognizes that.
The doubts about The Donald's sincerity are understandable, given the magnitude of the position he intends to fill. But if one is voting for the president with the most respect for God, Donald Trump is the one.
