It seems that there is an unfair bias when it comes to the subject of plastic surgery. Society seems to accept the trend when the results turn out well, but when the procedures are botched, they blame the individual for the poor results.
Kylie or Kim?
Kylie Jenner is a perfect example of plastic surgery done right. The world watched her grow from a playful child on Keeping Up With The Kardashians to burgeoning 18-year old beauty. However, if one examines her appearance from her teenage years to her present age, she looks strikingly different. Her face structure has changed and her lips have become so idolized that she's even marketing the Kylie Jenner Lip Kit. Now Jenner has never acknowledged any plastic surgery, but one can't help but notice that the older she gets, the more she looks like older sister Kim Kardashian. In any case, Jenner is praised for her face, which is in a constant state of boredom mixed with stunning beauty.
Ashley Simpson's hard nosed beauty
Speaking of #Celebrities who have not acknowledged plastic surgery, Ashley Simpson also looks completely differerent from when she first entered the music scene. Forever in the constant shadow of her older, more buxom sister Jessica, many say that the younger Simpson got plastic surgery on her nose. The result was a pretty girl became a cute girl with a cute nose. This led to her fame rising even though she failed to produce any top charting hits since the alleged surgery.
Lil' Kim's nightmare
This brings us to Lil' Kim. She is the latest victim of plastic surgery nightmares. The petit rapper was a mainstay on the rap scene in the early 90's, breaking barriers as one of the only legitimate female rappers on the scene. She spawned hits like Crush on You and started the trend of wearing multi-colored wigs before it became a trend. Flash forward to present day and the dark skinned beauty is trying to make a comeback by lightening her skin, enhancing her cheekbones and sporting blonde hair. However the attempt to gain publicity backfired. Most blamed Lil' Kim of trying to "whitewash" her face so that she would be socially accepted. Others accused her of having low self-esteem and in the end her look and her character, were universally panned.

So the question remains, is plastic surgery acceptable or is it only tolerated only when it is done right? The truth is that people don't mind plastic surgery when its done right. Some may say that the trend is messing with God's creation, but even the most opposed to plastic surgery, agree that stars like Kylie Jenner and Ashley Simpson look great. In the end the surgery is a personal choice. Not only is it the equivalent to putting your body through a car accident, some people like Kanye West's mother, Donda, have died from the procedure. So if anyone is considering the move, maybe they should look at their motivations before heading down that road. #CelebrityTV #MusicIndustry
