When the #Music is good, it touches beyond lyrics and taps into emotions and feelings. The soul vibrates at frequencies that cannot be achieved otherwise but through music. Each person is free to choose his or her own musical style and enjoy the diversity offered by the classics of the chosen genre.
Serj Tankian is, in my opinion, a genius of rock music, both for having a great voice and especially for the topics covered in his lyrics, later transformed into real pieces of art.
Early life and music career
Serj was born on August 21st, 1967 in the city of Beirut, and in 1975, moved with his family to Los Angeles. Before starting a career in music, Serj Tankian has set up his own software company. Singer, producer, songwriter, poet, political activist, and multi-instrumentalist, Serj became known originally as the lead vocalist, songwriter, and keyboardist of the band System of a Down in 1998. His discography is astonishing, consisting of 5 studio albums, two EPs, one album/DVD Live, 12 singles, 23 videos, and others (including a book of poetry).
He accepted the offer of an orchestra in New Zealand and started to rearrange the instrumentation of the songs on his first solo album "Elect The Dead." In doing so, creating a special musical spectrum that managed to amplify the musical qualities of each member of the orchestra and the work as a whole.
The artist's personal life is discreet, Serj and the beautiful Angela Madatyan got married on June 9th, 2012 in a private ceremony in Simi Valley. On October 24th, 2014, Serj Tankian announced the birth of his first child, a boy named Rumi. Tankian is a supporter of human rights, animal protection, social rights, and the Armenian genocide recognition by the Turkish state. These main themes are captured in a melodramatic way in the majority of his songs. The most popular songs are "Empty Walls," "Sky is Over," "Cornucopia," and "Harakiri." Ultimately, it wouldn't be a surprise if one day Tankian gets inducted into the Rock 'n' Roll hall of fame as a member of System of a Down, and again for his solo work. #Celebrities
