The 'Million Dollar Listing' Franchise: All you need to know about the agents, their sales, and their personal lives.

1.The major headlines this week include:

  • ‘Million Dollar Listing Los Angeles’ returns this November
  • Fredrik Eklund is waiting for his twins to be born
  • Fans are asking Ryan Serhant about when he will have children with wife Emilia Bechrakis

2.The history behind ‘Million Dollar Listing'

The first season of ‘Million Dollar Listing’ was called ‘Million Dollar Listing: Hollywood’ and it premiered on the Bravo network on August 29, 2006. The show documented real-estate agents doing their job, as they showed some amazing properties in Los Angeles. While the show was about showing some luxurious properties and some amazing property features, it was clear that the agents were in competition and it made great television.

The success of the show resulted in Bravo expanding the franchise. ‘Million Dollar Listing’ became ‘Million Dollar Listing Los Angeles’ and Bravo added ‘Million Dollar Listing New York.’ ‘Million Dollar Listing Miami’ followed but was canceled after one season. ‘Million Dollar Listing San Francisco’ was also filmed but canceled after one season.

3.‘Million Dollar Listing Los Angeles’

When ‘Million Dollar Listing Los Angeles’ started back in 2006, fans followed Josh Flagg, Madison Hildebrand, and Chad Rogers. After three seasons, Rogers left the show and Josh Altman joined the cast. After Madison decided to step back for a few seasons, Bravo producers had duo James Harris and David Parnes join the show. Madison returned to the show several times in guest roles and eventually as a full-time agent in 2016.

4.‘Million Dollar Listing New York’

‘Million Dollar Listing New York’ premiered on Bravo on March 7, 2012. Even though it is a spin-off of ‘Million Dollar Listing Los Angeles,’ it has become a success in itself. When the show began, fans followed Fredrik Eklund, Ryan Serhant, and Michael Lorber. Lorber decided to leave the show after the first season and he was replaced by Luis D. Ortiz. Ortiz left the show after its fifth season and he was replaced by Steve Gold, who filmed the sixth season.

‘Million Dollar Listing New York’ has become a popular show for Bravo and it has been nominated for two Emmy awards, which is something ‘Million Dollar Listing Los Angeles’ has not.

5.When to watch

"Million Dollar Listing Los Angeles” returns to Bravo on Nov. 2 at 9/8c.

"Million Dollar Listing New York” is currently off the air but is expected to return in spring 2018.
