The Cleveland Cavaliers are a professional basketball team located in Cleveland, Ohio. The Cavaliers are part of the NBA (National Basketball Association). The team colors are wine, gold, navy blue, black, and white. This 47-year-old team has done well in recent years (thanks in large part to LeBron James), but they have also experienced their share of loss.

The owner of the Cleveland Cavaliers is Dan Gilbert, the founder and chairman of Rock Ventures. The Cleveland Cavaliers' current rivalry is with the Golden State Warriors -- with both teams competing for the NBA crown in each of the last 3 seasons. The Golden State Warriors currently have a 2-1 edge in their combined 3 meetings. The home games of the Cavaliers are played at Quicken Loans Arena in downtown Cleveland.

As of 2017, Cleveland's current roster includes:

  • Jose Calderon (PG)
  • Jae Crowder (SF)
  • Kay Felder (PG)
  • Channing Frye (PF)
  • Jeff Green (SF)
  • LeBron James (SF)
  • Richard Jefferson (SF)
  • Dahntay Jones (SG)
  • Kyle Korver (SG)
  • Kevin Love (PF)
  • Cedi Osman (SF)
  • Derrick Rose (PG)
  • Iman Shumpert (SG)
  • JR Smith (SG)
  • Edy Tavares (C)
  • Isaiah Thomas (PG)
  • Tristan Thompson (C)
  • Deron Williams (PG)
  • Derrick Williams (PF)
  • Ante Zizic (PF)

The Cleveland Cavaliers made significant roster changes in the 2017 offseason. All-Star Kyrie Irving demanded a trade to become the face of his franchise and to no longer play in the shadow of global superstar LeBron James. After weeks of speculation, the Cleveland Cavaliers sent Irving to their conference rivals (the Boston Celtics) in exchange for Isaiah Thomas, Jae Crowder, Ante Zizic, and the Brooklyn Nets' 2018 unprotected first-round pick.

In what is rumored to be LeBron James' final year in a Cleveland Cavaliers uniform, it will be interesting to see what Cleveland can put together in the coming season, and whether or not they are going to be able to contend for another crown. Also, with such a blockbuster trade taking place between conference rivals, future match-ups between the Cleveland Cavaliers and Boston Celtics will certainly be must-watch basketball.

List of Cleveland's accomplishments:

• NBA Championship: 2016

• 4 Conference Titles: 2007, 2015, 2016, 2017

• 6 Division Titles: 1976, 2009, 2010, 2015, 2016, 2017

• 7 numbers retired: 7 (Robert “Bingo” Smith), 11 (Zydrunas Ilgauskas), 22 (Larry Nance), 25 (Mark Price), 34 (Austin Carr), 42 (Nate Thurmond), and 43 (Bradley Daugherty).
