china has for long been trying to dominate Asia and has always considered India its rival. Though both the countries have a voluminous trade, yet China tries all means at its disposal to corner India. The Chinese and the Indian army are presently locked in an eye ball to eye ball confrontation in the tri-junction between India, Bhutan, and China.
There is little chance of a war as India has been gearing up to strike China in case the need arises. Hans M Kristensen the director of the Nuclear Information Project of the Federation of American Scientists (FAS) has made some startling observations.
He said that India is modernizing and upgrading its nuclear weaponry and has enough Plutonium for about 150-200 warheads. In addition, India has developed long range ICBM that can strike Beijing and Shanghai from their bases in South India. The Indian focus which was Pakistan has shifted to China and the dragon is rattled. The Times of India reported this news.
Deterrent against China
One result of this deterrent is that in the face off at Dhokla the Indian army has not moved one inch back and the Chinese have been unable to pressurize India. The Indian's started development of their strike capability in 2003 and now have a missile that can hit North China. The air force also has 4 squadrons of MIG-27, Jaguar and Mirage fighter bombers with the express task of carrying out a nuclear strike against Pakistan and China.
Missiles and nuclear submarine
The Indians have also developed long range missiles specifically for China. The latest Agni-3 can strike China from its base in the deep south of India. The Indian navy has also successfully tested a nuclear-powered submarine INS Arihant. Much help for this project was given by Russian experts who worked at the Bhabha Atomic Research Center and miniaturized a reactor that could fit the hull of a submarine.
Strategic partnership with the US
India is also into a strategic partnership with the United States. A logistic support agreement has been initialed and India is now the biggest arms client of the USA. The US is giving India the latest technology and PresidentTrump have cleared the sale of 22 Drones. There is also a massive sea exercise going on in the Bay of Bengal between India, USA, and Japan.
All this is disconcerting news to the dragon, which is used to having its own way. Jawahar Lal Nehru in his "Discovery of India" had said that a strong China is an expansionist China. The USA and the world will have to be ready for this.
