A document posted on the European Commission's website showed areas in which G20 leaders will focus on when fighting terrorism. The leaders condemned acts of terror and came up with Measures that will protect innocent people. They agreed on combating terrorism by implementing commitments to fighting the vice, enhancing international cooperation against counterterrorism, tackling terrorism financing, preventing radicalization and barring the use of the internet for terrorist purposes.

How they will implement counterterrorism commitments and corporations

World leaders called for international obligations to Counter Terrorism as well as support the U.S in its counterterrorism efforts. They will also address the problem of returning foreign fighters. The leaders will ensure that such fighters do not establish a foothold in other countries. The exchange of information between law enforcers, intelligence officials and judiciaries will also be enhanced to ensure that terrorists are identified, arrested and brought to justice.

Border cooperation will also be improved to deter terrorists from crossing national borders; this measure will be enhanced through the identification of transit points of leading destination countries for terrorists.

Other commitments and cooperation the leaders will implement include identifying security threats within the aviation industry and ensuring those affected by terrorism receive support.

How terrorism financing will be fought

The leaders will combat terrorism financing by strengthening information exchange and collaborating with the private sector as well as tackling the sources, channels, and techniques used by terrorists to finance their activities.They will also implement the Financial Action Task Force (FATF) to combat money laundering by terrorists worldwide.

Central bank governors and finance ministers will also work with the FAFT and other organizations to fight terrorism financing. They will also dismantle sources terrorists use to finance their activities. Such activities include kidnappings, looting, antique smuggling, drug trade and human trafficking.

How they will combat radicalization and terrorist internet use

With regards to radicalization, the leaders will fight online propaganda by terrorists as well as set up deradicalization programs. They will also promote political and religious tolerance. Strategies such as economic development, social cohesion, and inclusiveness will also help them reduce extremism.

They will also involve communication service providers in fighting the vice while the media, religious organizations, civil society and other organizations will help them in fighting radicalization and terrorism.
