Lamar Odom almost died in October 2015 after overdosing from drugs and almost two years after that incident, he opened up about what he did before the overdose. He also talked about how he was surprised that his ex-wife, Khloe Kardashian, rushed to his bedside during that health scare despite everything he did to her.
Odom wrote an essay titled “Done in the Dark” for The Players’ Tribune and talked about what he felt and thought after waking up from a coma, which lasted for four days. After days of alcohol consumption and drug use, Odom was found unconscious at a Nevada brothel.
The former NBA player said that upon waking up and discovering that he had tubes coming out of his mouth, he panicked and tried to pull them out. He described the feeling as having a bad dream and wanting to get away from monsters but he cannot because his legs felt like they were not working and everything was in slow motion, People reported.
Odom surprised Kardashian was in the hospital with him
Odom and his ex-wife have not had the best relationship after they split. Odom did not want to sign the divorce papers but never really told Kardashian where he had been and what he had been up to. Odom said that when he saw Khloe in the hospital after waking up from the coma, he was surprised because she dropped everything and rushed to be by his side “after all the sh*t” he has done to her.
He said that when he saw Kardashian, he realized he was in really bad shape and that is why even his ex-wife was worried about him, Us Weekly shared.
Kardashian walked in on Odom with another woman
He revealed that Kardashian once walked in on him with another woman while they were doing cocaine. He said that he could not take the woman home so they settled for a motel.
He admitted that he was a scumbag for doing such to Kardashian. Odom added, “My d**k and my habit took me down all the roads” no one wants to ever go down.
Odom and Kardashian got married on September 27, 2009 just a month after they met. Four years later, they have had marital problems due to his cheating and drug use. The two finally got divorced last December.
Former athlete was doing coke everyday
Before the near-fatal overdose, Odom revealed that he had been doing cocaine every day and he did it every second he had free time. He noted that cocaine will make a person do things they never thought they would do and will turn one into a different person. He also said that he first tried cocaine at the age of 24 at a party in Miami and had since been addicted.
Now, Odom said he is staying sober for his family.
