The Russia investigation continues to take its toll on President Donald trump’s rating. A Gallup daily tracking poll said the president’s disapproval rating plummeted again to 59 percent as of June 11.

It matched the 59 percent disapproval the billionaire got on March 28.This was the day he inked an executive order that reversed environmental laws made during the term of his predecessor, President Barack Obama.

Approval rating inched up by 1 percent

On that day, Trump’s approval rating also hit an all-time low of 35 percent, Time reported. In the latest survey, while the president’s disapproval rating was the same as on March 28, his approved rating on June 11 slightly inched up by 1 percent to 36 percent.

Gallup interviewed 1,500 adults across the U.S. by telephone for the survey. The return to 59 percent disapproval rating could be the result of the June 8 damning testimony of former FBI Director James Comey. Comey told the Senate Intelligence Committee that Trump pressured him to drop the investigation into Michael Flynn, the former National Security Adviser, who made contact with Russian officials during the 2016 U.S. election.

Walk of Shame

Voting to disapprove of the president is one way a growing number of Americans express their disgust for Trump who now seeks affirmation from cabinet secretaries and senior officials. Another way to show the real estate billionaire that he should soon step down from office for perceived obstruction of justice is to stick slogans on Trump’s Walk of Star marker.

Doing just that, was what members of L.A. Pride Resist Marchers did. They covered Trump’s Hollywood star with “resist” stickers that carried various messages such as “resist transphobia,” “resist misogyny,” “resist racism,” and “dissent don’t relent,” Mashable reported.

Previous attempts

After filling Trump’s star with the stickers, they tweeted images of it, both with and without the stickers.

The image included a rainbow flag. There were at least two other attempts to deface the Hollywood star of the former host of “The Apprentice” reality show.

To protest the border wall that Trump wishes to build on the U.S.-Mexico boundary, in July someone placed a small wall with razor wire on the star. In October, a man with a sledgehammer was arrested after he used it to try and destroy the star.

He was charged with felony vandalism.

The L.A. Pride organizers posted on their website that in 2017, the group needed to go back to its roots and protest. Protest is a part of their effort to counter Trump policies that roll back the human rights won by the LGBTQ community.
