Kushner is the subject controversy involving Russia

The President's comments regarding Kushner came when it was reported just a few days ago that some of the President's associates were allegedly in communication with the Russian government around the time of the latest election campaign.

After these reports surfaced, senior White House officials are suggesting Jared Kushner take some time off while FBI inspects him.

While this issue is still being investigated, the American President took to his Twitter account to say that many of the "leaks" from White House were "fake news."

United States President Donald Trump came back to America on Saturday after a nine-day long trip to Israel, Saudi Arabia, and Italy and right after his visit ended he is faced with this controversy.

In a meeting with the Russian Ambassador to the United States Sergei Kislyak last year in December 2016, Kushner proposed establishing a secret communication channel with the Kremlin.

According to some former US officials, Jared Kushner had a minimum of three contacts with Sergei Kislyak during and after the presidential campaign of last year where he allegedly wanted to set up a secondary means of exchanging information between the Russian government and Donald Trump's team.

The 'New York Times' was first to report that Kushner also met a close aide of Putin and chairman of a bank Sergey Gorkov in a 30-minute long meeting last year in December. It was claimed that not only was Kushner looking forward to establishing back channel communication with the Russian ambassador to the U.S. but he also wanted to gain access to the Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Jared Kushner is married to Donald Trump's 35-year-old daughter Ivanka, and the couple has three children together.
