The investigations into the Manchester terror Attack has been in full swing right from the day of the attack and despite the damaging leaks which emanated from the United States, the police has made significant breakthroughs into the case. According to latest reports in the BBC, the police has made their tenth arrest and their is no indication if this is going to be the last one.

An ongoing investigation

Greater Manchester Police announced today that they have made the tenth arrest in their ongoing investigation into the terror attack. The arrested man is believed to be the part of a larger network which helped suicide bomber Salman Abedi with his act.

The man, remains in custody with 7 others, who are thought to be the part of the network. Police had earlier let go a 34 year old woman and 16 year old boy, who had been arrested on suspicious of being a part of the network. However, it is important to note that the perpetrator of the attack, Salman Abedi, had been in the radar of the security agencies in the United Kingdom and hence the attack has come as a particularly stinging blow to the reputation of the Security Forces in the country. According to the BBC, Abedi's status among the security forces had been classified as 'subject to review'. A house in St. Helen's has also been searched today in connection with the attack.

Information sharing with US restored

Following the twin leaks, the UK had temporarily suspended sharing any information regarding the investigation with the US but the information sharing channels have now been restored. It is believed that US President Donald Trump's intervention in the matter and promise of a thorough investigation has caused the change of heart.

Meanwhile, the terror threat levels in the country have been raised by the security forces and, at this point in time, it has been classified as 'critical'. It implies that another terror attack could be in the works. The police has also interrogated Abedi's family in Libya in order to have a greater understanding of the plot and it has emerged that his younger brother was aware of the his plans to carry out a terror attack of this scale.

However, it should be noted that his brother was not an accomplice and has no idea about the specifics of the attack that he eventually carried out in Manchester. More arrests are imminent in the coming days and it is expected that would not be long before the security forces are able to expose the entire network.
