One of the biggest debates happening in American politics is over the role Donald Trump's family members are playing in his administration. With First Daughter Ivanka Trump and her husband jared kushner having key advisory spots in the White House, it's caused many on cable news to voice their opinion.

MSNBC on Trump

When it was clear that Donald Trump had defeated Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton to become the 45th President of the United States, all eyes then shifted onto who he would surround himself with in the White House. While names like former Breitbart News CEO Steve Bannon have often dominated the discussion, it's been the inclusion of Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner that has since been in the headlines.

Kushner's role has caused problems behind the scenes with Bannon, leading reports to speculate over whether or not the former head of Breitbart News would be fired from his job as chief strategist. For Ivanka, she's being used as an adviser to Trump, making her first foreign trip representing the United States earlier this week in Berlin, Germany. These issues, and more, were discussed during the April 26 edition of "Morning Joe" on MSNBC.

MSNBC hosts Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski got into a testy exchange with each other when the topic of Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner was brought up. Scarborough did his best to understand why Donald Trump was using his family members as advisers, while noting the president could do a lot worse.

"Better her and Jared than some other people who had his ear," Scarborough noted, while pointing out that National Security Counsel has been running better since Kushner was given more of a role and Steve Bannon was removed.

At this point, the panel continued with Joe Scarborough appearing to compare the addition of Ivanka and Kushner to when former President John F.

Kennedy brought his brother Bobby Kennedy into the White House. "My political hero was appointed Attorney General for his brother, and Republicans didn’t like that back then," Scarborough said, before noting, "If you looked at Bobby Kennedy's record, some good things came out of that."

Clear tension

Mika Brzezinski was quick to fire back, asking, "You're comparing Ivanka Trump to Bobby Kennedy?" "You don’t have to be so snotty," Joe Scarborough replied, before adding, "you didn’t let me get it out.

You don't have to be so rude." Scarborough then accused Brzezinski of trying to get in a "cheap shot," before clarifying that "No I am not saying Jared and Ivanka are Bobby Kennedy." While the debate over the White House continues, it doesn't appear that Donald Trump is going to change the way he does business anytime soon.
