As per the case, Sasikala along with J Jayalalitha have conspired to acquire a fortune worth more than 60 Crores illicitly. On December 2017, Jayalalitha died, and O Panneer Selvam, known as the loyalist of Jayalalitha took charge as the Chief Minister.
