Prince Harry and Meghan Markle might already be engaged

According to Us Weekly on Wednesday, October 11, Prince Harry and actress Meghan Markle might already be engaged. They have been dating for 15 months and seem to be so much in love. In Meghan's Vanity Fair interview, she said there will be a time when they will come forward and present themselves to the public.

From the way things seem to be going, reliable sources believe an official announcement will come from Kensington Palace soon. Some people are convinced that it is just a matter of time before that happens.

Meghan has a starring role on the USA legal drama "Suits" which is in its seventh season.

However, it has been reported that the 36-year-old actress has not renewed her contract for another season. It stands to reason that no announcement will come while Meghan is still filming for the Toronto-based series that ends in November. For security reasons, she will be with Prince Harry when a public announcement is made.

Royal engagement protocol

No matter what the tabloids say, the announcement must come from Kensington Palace in order for it to be official. Of course, royal officials there would know far in advance about an engagement so they can prepare the details for it. Making the announcement is not as simple as one would think.

Prince Harry will more than likely follow in the footsteps of his older brother.

When Prince William proposed to Duchess Kate in Kenya in October 2010, it was over a month later before Kensington Palace made the official announcement. A small photo session was also held with only one photographer and one journalist present. An interview was held and broadcast around the world so that everyone could find out the news at the same time.

As you can see, a royal engagement is so much different from an engagement of someone who is not royal.

First, the engaged couple wants to celebrate privately with the immediate families before the public and the paparazzi know about it. Secondly, there is a lot of preparation that goes into a royal engagement and even more than that goes into a royal wedding.

The public knows that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have been dating for 15 months. They had been dating six months in secret. So, they do know how to keep a secret. Their romance has deepened over those months. It was obvious at the Invictus Games that Harry hosted last month that the two of them are in love. There was plenty of PDA, and they seemed so happy together. They didn't mind being photographed together. More information will be revealed next month when the actress is not filming for "Suits."
