Spooky drink & decor ideas

What is Halloween without drinks or Halloween decor? With many ideas (alcoholic and non-alcoholic) you can be as simple or creative as you want. You may be surprised at how easy it is to create some of these classic drinks in just a few minutes.

It isn't just the drinks that get people's attention. The ambiance is just as important. How about a bowl of punch that never stops releasing smoke? And it has floating hands in it to keep it cool? Making the smoking punch bowl is easy as 1-2-3. All you need is dry ice and water. Add three or four pieces of dry ice to a punch bowl and add lukewarm water, and presto - instant scary decoration is born. Check out the video below to see how simple this is to do.

As for drinks, one of our personal favorites is the Glowing Jell-O-Shots. Yes, they really glow! We got this idea from Delish.com and it is simple to make. The secret to making your jello-shots light up is to use only tonic water—not half tonic, half tap water. That is the key!

All you need is 2 cups tonic water, 2 packages Jell-O (two flavors; we used pineapple and orange for the Halloween effect, and that is what is suggested) 1 cup of water and 1 cup of vodka.

Here are the steps to make your jello-shots glow.

Step 1:

Pour one cup tonic water into a pot over high heat. When it begins to boil, add the pineapple Jell-O mix. Be sure to stir until the mix has dissolved, then pour in half a cup of water and half a cup of your favorite vodka.

Stir to combine. Pour the Jell-O into shot glasses, filling them about two-thirds of the way up.

Place in the refrigerator to cool for at least a half-hour.

Step 2:

As the first layer cools, start making the orange Jell-O, in the same manner as you did in step 1. Top each of the pineapple Jell-O shot glasses with the orange Jell-O mixture. Return the shots to the fridge to set, 2 to 3 hours. Instant Halloween fun!

No matter how you celebrate your Halloween fun this year, be responsible and don't drink and drive - and don't overdo the candy either!

Happy Halloween!
