The Miss Universe Organization has started its countdown for the upcoming international pageant on November 26. They have posted images on their social media accounts to keep fans updated about the event which will be held in jst a few weeks.

Over 80 contestants from various countries in the world will compete for the coveted title of Miss Universe 2017. This will be the 66th edition of the pageant and it will be held at The AXIS in Las Vegas in Nevada.

It will also mark the sixth time that the event will be held in the city since it started in 1952.

Current titleholder Iris Mittenaere from France will crown the new winner. She was crowned in Manila, the Philippines, earlier this year.

The pageant will be aired on Fox from The AXIS. It is ranked as one of the renowned theater venues in the United States and has been the venue of many international concerts by singers such as Britney Spears, Jennifer Lopez, and Lionel Richie, according go to their official website.

Steve Harvey returns

For the third time, Emmy Award winner Steve Harvey will return to host Miss Universe 2017. He his loved by fans all over the world because of his comic acts amongst the international beauties.

However, he was criticized for a major mistake he made during the 2015 edition of the beauty tilt.

During the crowning moment, he mistakenly announced Ariadna Gutierrez from Colombia as the winner. He left her on stage to enjoy her first moments as the newly-crowned winner.

But after a few minutes of her waving at her fans, Harvey came back to change the announcement and revealed Pia Wurtzbach from the Philippines as the real winner.

The crown and sash were transferred from Gutierrez to Wurtzbach.

Iris Mittenaere

During her reign, France’s representative Iris Mittenaere traveled to many parts of the globe and attended several galas to promote the mission of the pageant.

These countries included Panama, India, and Egypt.

She also attended various events during New York Fashion Week. She also graced the stage during the "Sherri Hill" show, the official gown designer of the organization.

Around a month before she passes on the duties to the new titleholder, this French beauty visited the Pyramids of Giza in Egypt, Egypt Today reported. She will be part of the Miss Egypt World jury committee.

She also posted her photos during her trip to this African nation. She wrote, “This afternoon was amazing... learning more about the Egyptian civilization, the pyramids is so interesting.”
