German automobile manufacturer Porsche revealed details on the launch of its first Electric car, the Mission E, CTV News reported. It will go on sale by the end of 2019.

Details about the newest electric car were announced during the 2017 Frankfurt Motor Show. The show is currently being held in the German city and will run until September 25.

The motor show provides enthusiasts with new details about concert cars and vehicle debuts. It is also the most important car-related event in Germany that will feature the brands based in the European nation.

Some of these brands include Porsche, Audi, Mercedes, Volkswagen and BMW, The Telegraph reported.

Japanese car brands such as Subaru and other companies such as Bentley are also expected to launch their new cars during the Frankfurt Motor Show.

Mission E

This year, Porsche is providing new details on Mission E, an electric car that is reportedly priced at around $80,000 in the United States, CTV News further noted. The Porsche Mission E is regarded as a production model as it was previously revealed in 2015.

This car model is also now in its final phases of development before it begins production and shipping. The features and the engine of the Mission E were revealed by Car Magazine.

According to the magazine, Mission E will have a 100 percent electric powertrain, highly comparable to the sports car Porsche Panamera and high-performance vehicle Porsche 911.

The electric car is a four-door sports vehicle, and is now being prepared for its first public prototype testing.

Furthermore, the new car also has no combustion engines. It will provide various power output motors and various body styles as it is launched by the end of 2019, Car Magazine added.

More electric cars by Porsche

During the original launch of Mission E back in 2015, board chairman Dr.

Wolfgang Porsche revealed that though it will be the company’s first all-electric vehicle, it will not be the last. This means that the company will continue to make brands of this kind, as it maintains its trademark as a maker of “fascinating sports cars,” the car-oriented publication further stated.

As soon as the stages of production start, the new all-electric car will create more than 1,000 jobs in the headquarters of the manufacturing company in Stuttgart-Zuffenhausen.

Car Magazine also reported that the engine factory and assembly facility are being expanded for future production.
