It all started out with Minaj hosting a Twitter contest to join her at the Billboard Music Awards in Las Vegas but ended in unexpected aid for her fans, all thanks to Twitter user CJ (@cjbydesign) who replied to Minaj's tweet with "Well you wanna pay for my tuition?" to which Minaj (@NICKIMINAJ) replied, "Show me straight A's that I can verify w/ur school and I'll pay it. Who wants to join THAT contest?!?! Dead serious. Shld I set it up?"

4.0 GPA only

Initially, Minaj had one request - her fans had to have a 4.0 grade-point average. She replied to one of her fan's tweets with "If u give me a 4.0 then I'll keep my end of the bargain," to which they responded with a picture of their results.

When news broke that the "No Frauds" singer is helping out her fans with their financial needs to pay their college tuition, tweets and pictures of bills started pouring into Minaj's mentions. However, that did not stop her from asking her fans to direct message her with their bank account details, which totaled more than $1000 for each fan.

Her selflessness and dedication to help out her fans is incredibly inspiring. This small act from an internationally acclaimed artist could really help out those who are deserving of an education but do not necessarily have the means of accessing it.

Branching out

It is clear that not everyone has a grade-point average of 4.0 or is still attending college so Minaj even responded to those who needed help with funding their college materials and student loans.

Twitter user Amani (@amaniinthecity) tweeted "800 would help for my summer classes & books" and Minaj replied with "Done. Dm." Another user, @Moonlight_Nerds), tweeted "Queen help me get back into school I owe 1.5k" to which Minaj replied "Send me ur info."

Minaj wrapped up her charity spree by agreeing to help a student buy a drawing tablet.

Twitter user Thomas (@ThomasJDoran) tweeted "Nicki please all I need is $2000 for a Wacom pro for college and I literally can't afford it and I start in September" and Minaj replied "Ok you're the last one for the night. Dm ur info." She concluded the "contest" by tweeting: "Ok u guys. It's been fun. Let me make those payments tmrw then see if I have any money left.

I'll do some more in a month or 2," implying that there could be a possibility that she would help out her fans again in the near future.

In total, she agreed to help over 30 fans with their college funding, accumulating over $10,000 to give away. It should not be any problem for Minaj given that she was the sixth highest paid rapper in 2016, according to Forbes. Minaj has been extremely vocal about education since the start of her career, so it's not a big surprise that she would make such a gesture.
