Celebrating its 70th year, the Cannes Film Festival has begun in style with many A list celebrities gracing the Red Carpet. Some of Hollywood’s finest, including Susan Sarandon, Emily Ratajkowski, Uma Thurman and Marion Cottilard flaunted their style on the festival’s grand opening. For fashion enthusiasts, the red carpet did not disappoint with glitz and glamor taking over the French Riviera.

Bella Hadid wardrobe malfunction

Gracing the opening night with her father Mohamed Hadid, supermodel Bella did not disappoint in her ravishing gown by Alexander Vauthier.

Showing off all her assets, the strapless sweetheart gown had a daring split that accentuated her beautiful long legs. Although dazzling in pastel pink, Hadid suffered a wardrobe malfunction revealing her matching underwear as she posed for the cameras. News.com.au reported she was not too phased with the mishap as she continued to walk the carpet with grace and class.

Royalty of the red carpet

High splits were also a favorite for some of Cannes celebrity royalty. Showing the world that age is just a number, Susan Sarandon flaunted her curves in a deep green, off the shoulder number by Alberta Ferretti.

Finished with a high split and accessorizing in dark shades, the 70-year-old could do no wrong at the red carpet grand opening.

Uma Thurman also kept to the theme of high splits with an Atelier Versace gown. Always elegant, Thurman walked the carpet in pale pink featuring a sleek train in a tasteful fashion.

Ladies in red and debutants

The red carpet was not complete without bold colors from Sara Sampaio and Julianne Moore choosing red as their preferred hue. Indian actress Deepika Padukone graced the red carpet in a stunning Marchesa gown. Although she has attended previously, this year’s red carpet has marked this Indian beauty as a global star.

With the festival spanning 11 days, we will be sure to see many more incredible styles on show, marking the 70th anniversary of one of the biggest fashion stages in the world.
