Is Cracker Barrel open on Christmas and what time does the country-themed restaurant close on Christmas Eve? If you're craving some comfort food during the holiday weekend, Cracker Barrel's limited holiday hours may force you to find another place to eat unless your schedule is flexible.

With well over 600 locations across the United States, there's a good chance there is a Cracker Barrel Country Store near you. However, the popular restaurant chain is giving their employees a break this weekend and sending them home early so they can enjoy the holidays with their families.

All locations will be closed all day on Christmas Day but will be open for sit-down and country-sized meals-to-go on Christmas Eve. You will have to eat early, though — on Saturday, December 24, Cracker Barrel restaurants across the nation will close at 2 p.m. and won't reopen until Monday, December 26.

Takeout meals available Christmas Eve

If you place an order for a take-out meal, you will have to pick it up before the 2 p.m. Christmas Eve closing time. And here's an important tip — all meals must be ordered at least two hours in advance, so call your local Cracker Barrel to place an order long before closing time on Saturday so you won't miss out.

Family-size take-out meals serve six and you will only have to heat them up at home — no cooking required.

The Cracker Barrel Meals to Go menu features an entree (Meatloaf, Roast Beef, Chicken and Dumplings, or Sugar Cured Ham), three side dishes, and biscuits or bread. Grab some paper plates and you'll have very little clean up.

Dozens of restaurants are open Christmas Day

If take-out isn't your thing, there are dozens of restaurants open on Christmas Day for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

For people with a slim budget, a buffet-style restaurant like Golden Corral or Shoney's may be a good option — both restaurants are open on Sunday.

According to IB Times, Denny's, Waffle House, and IHOP will be open on December 25, but if you're looking for something a little fancier than sitting in a booth eating eggs and bacon, Bucca di Beppo will be offering Italian-American food starting at 11 a.m. on Christmas.
