#KFC doesn’t disappoint when it comes to offering unusual online products that you won’t find on their menu anytime soon. This week KFC gave away 3,000 bottles of limited-supply #sunscreen that makes you smell like – what else – crispy fried #chicken. The one-bottle-per-customer limit didn’t stop people from draining the supply soon after the giveaway was announced on the company’s website on Monday. KFC broke the bad news to fans of chicken and sunbathing by later adding a light-hearted sticker to their page.

KFC made it humorously clear on their website that this product wasn’t for consumption. “Available for a limited time only.

Side effects may include the Extra Crispy™ lifestyle and smelling like fried chicken. KFC® Extra Crispy™ Sunscreen is an actual product. KFC® Extra Crispy™ Sunscreen is not a food product. NOT a food product. Do not eat this product. Even though this product smells delicious, it is not delicious. The only skin that should be extra crispy this summer is on your fried chicken.”

KFC chicken-scented candles

KFC has experimented with other inedible products in the past. In 2015 the company revived a line of limited-edition scented candles that smelled like fried chicken as well. CCN reported that candle-maker Kathy Werking was the brainchild behind the Double Down candle, which was the olfactory equivalent of a KFC chicken sandwich mixed with bacon.

The KFC chicken addiction factor

In 2015 the company revived a line of limited-edition scented candles that smelled like fried chicken as well. CCN reported that candle-maker Kathy Werking was the brainchild behind several chicken-scented home decor pieces like the Double Down candle, which was the olfactory equivalent of a KFC chicken sandwich mixed with bacon.

Apparently, KFC may be trying too hard to maintain customers, when in fact, some of them have serious addictions to KFC products. Blasting News reported on 21-year-old gymnast Georgie Scotney, who dined exclusively on KFC chicken strips and popcorn chicken with chips for three years. She eventually sought help for the condition known as Selective Eating Disorder (SED)and managed to recover through sessions of hypnotherapy and dieting.

But there’s even a dark side to dieting healthy. Blasting news highlighted the downside of a recent phenomenon known as Orthorexia Nervosa. It’s safe to say that a person afflicted with this condition wouldn’t be caught with a KFC bucket of chicken.

But similarly to SED an individual’s fixation on one diet can cause serious health issues if not properly regulated by a physician or nutritionist.

More chicken, more

KFC has not said whether or not they will offer their chicken-scented sunscreen again in the future. In the meantime, there are still plenty of other non-tasty products for KFC fans out there, including a KFC corsage, a realistic piece of fake fried chicken, as well as a KFC chicken-scented nail polish.
