When Princess Elena of Avalor made her debut on stage in the Walt #Disney World, her family was there to cheer her on. No, it wasn't her grandparents and the other family member who help the teen princess rule her kingdom. Instead, it was her #Disney Channel family, with the creators and writer behind the hit show watching their popular new animated character take flesh and blood form to get welcomed to the Magic Kingdom.

Elena is Disney's first Latina princess, and she's already a big hit with viewers. She's smart, feisty, and loyal to her family and friends, giving young girls a strong role model.

Nancy Kanter of Disney Junior was on hand to watch the princess meet Cinderella and Prince Charming in front of their iconic Magic Kingdom castle, and afterward she talked about what it was like to see that happen and how the audience reacted to the new show. She's featured in the video below:

Also on hand were Craig Gerber, the show's creator and executive producer, and Silvia Cardenas Olivas, story editor for "Elena of Avalor." The duo talked about bringing the first Latina Disney princess to life on the Disney Channel and Disney Junior and what inspired them in creating her and writing the story lines. They also shared their feelings about the success of her very first live show at the Magic Kingdom in Walt Disney World:

#Jenna Ortega, who voices her younger sister Isa, was there. Ortega is a familiar face to Disney Channel fans who know her as Harley from "Stuck in the Middle." Voice acting is a change of pace for the young actress, and she talked about what it's like to be a part of history in the first Disney show featuring a Latina princess and in seeing how much the audience has fallen in love with Elena and Isa.

Princess Elena's new welcome show at the Magic Kingdom will run several times each day so fans can see her in person at the park. Her magical adventure in Avalor continue on the Disney Channel on Friday nights at 7:30 p.m. ET and weekend mornings at 11:00 a.m. on Disney Junior.
