#Disney Springs is hopping with new shops and restaurants, and one of the newest additions is Mexican restaurant Frontera Cocina. This eatery from Chef Rick Bayless showcases some of the most popular menu items from his Chicago restaurant. He serves sumptuous sit-down meals inside, and diners looking for a quick bite as they stroll around Disney Springs can grab quick goodies like tacos, guacamole, and even refreshing margaritas.

If the name Rick Bayless sounds familiar, you probably know him as a victor on 'Top Master Chefs' or his own public TV series, 'Mexico One Plate at a Time.' Disney Springs at Walt Disney World is becoming a mecca for celebrity chefs, with the likes of Iron Chef Moriomoto (Morimoto Asia) and Chef Art Smith (Homecoming) springing up as newcomers amidst venerable Disney Springs veterans like Chef Kevin Dundon (Raglan Road).

Authentic spices at Frontera Cocina

Chef Bayless didn't tone down his food for Disney Springs. You'll still enjoy the spiciness, although many dishes on the menu are recognizable and very accessible to even timid diners. You'll find plenty of items like tacos, tostadas, enchiladas, carne asada (steak). Some of those familiar items have a unique twist, like zucchini and poblano rajas tostadas, and some items may be completely unfamiliar, like the cochinita pibil torta (pork shoulder), but that's what makes dining at Frontera Cocina an adventure. You can stay inside of your comfort zone or try to find a new favorite.

If you like your libations, Frontera Cocina also has an extensive wine and margarita menu, as well as agave flights. For fans of aguas frescas, there's agua de jamaica, a flower 'tea' that's a special treat for those familiar with its taste. Desserts run the gamut from a plantano sundae to heavenly pecan pie bars to a very special twist on traditional tres leches cake (coconut lime cuatro leches).

With its massively expanded shopping area, Disney Springs is a popular draw from afternoon through late evening for visitors to Walt Disney World, and Frontera Cocina opens at 11 a.m. to hit the lunch crowd, while closing hours vary by the night.
