So far EA DICE has launched two expansions for “Battlefield 1.” The first expansion is “They Shall Not Pass,” while the second is “In the Name of the Tsar.” The developer finally revealed the third expansion for the game and it is called “Turning Tides.” According to a report by GameSpot, the new downloadable content is set to launch in December and January. It features new maps, classes, weapons and much more.

December DLC

EA DICE will divide “Battlefield 1: Turning Tides” into two parts. The first contents will arrive on December while some additional contents will arrive in January.

The first set of downloadable contents will feature two new maps, namely the Cape Helles (Gallipoli peninsula beaches) and Achi Baba (British assault on the Gallipoli peninsula of 1915). The expansion will also introduce a new operation called Gallipoli. In this operation, players can either attack or defend different sectors of the additional map.

New weapons

The downloadable contents on December will bring six new guns and three new melee weapons. The weapons are the M1917 Trench Carbine, Arisaka Type- 38, M1917 MG, Carcano M91 Carbine, and Maschienpistole M1912/P.16. The expansion will also feature a naval cutlass and grappling hook for close-up combat.

New class and vehicles

“Battlefield 1: Turning Tides” will introduce a new elite class called “The Infiltrator.” This new class can easily hide in plain sight and stealthily move faster across the battlefield with its Infiltrator Elite pickup.

Two new vehicles are also added. First is the L-Class Destroyer that can easily defeat ground, sea, and air units with its mighty cannons, AA guns, and torpedoes. Second is the C-Class Airship that can deliver death from above with its three gunners.

January DLC

Two new maps will also be added on January. First is the Heligoland Bight map which is an epic naval clash between the British Royal Marines and German Navy.

The second map is Zeebrugge. The map is set in a British raid on the Belgian port of Bruges-Zeebrugge. There are only a few downloadable contents on January. But players can expect a major update if ever there are bugs and glitches from the December contents.

The upcoming expansion will also feature mini-challenges, unlocks, service assignments, specializations, and a new game mode called Conquest Assault.

Players who are willing to try out the new features can check into “Battlefield 1” Community Test Environment. The developer has not announced the specific release date of the expansion, but players can expect it on mid-December.
