Overwatch” has become one of the most popular games since it launched last year. Blizzard managed to create a new IP that focuses on cooperation and team input rather than working alone and solo carrying. While its growth might have slowed down over the past few months, more Players continue to play “Overwatch” as it has just reached yet another milestone.

Lots of new heroes

According to PC Gamer, Blizzard has just announced that their first-person shooter has accumulated over 35 million players. It’s worth noting that the game has only been out for about a year and a half, making these numbers a major achievement.

Nonetheless, it’s also worth keeping in mind that sometimes players use “sub” or “alt” accounts for smurfing or playing with others. Moreover, some of these other accounts might have also been part of the free weekends Blizzard occasionally holds.

Unfortunately, they didn’t break down the numbers by consoles, but it’s pretty sure that most of these players are on the PC. It only took three months for the game’s fanbase to grow by an additional five million players as Blizzard had made a similar announcement not too long ago. That said, the “Overwatch” team continues to try their best by supporting the first-person shooter with new content. So far, the game has had its fair share of new maps, heroes, skins, and even game modes.

Halloween Event

In line with this, there’s an ongoing event right now. Blizzard brought back the Halloween Terror from last year, allowing players to unlock all of the old cosmetic items. Blizzard has also made a few new skins for several characters like Ana, Torbjorn, Symmetra, and Zarya. While the new skins cost triple the amount of the original price, fans can buy the old skins at a standard rate.

Moreover, Junkenstein’s Revenge also returns this year with a new mode. A group of four players must work together and stop the zomnics from destroying Eichenwald Castle. The original game mode allows the player to pick Ana, Soldier: 76, McCree, or Hanzo, while the new endless mode adds Widowmaker, Zenyatta, Torbjorn, and Genji.

Those who manage to survive the new mode will be rewarded with some new sprays.

“Overwatch” is a team-based game that continues to expand with more content. It seems like Blizzard has a few surprises next month at BlizzCon 2017 as they’ll be opening a large loot box on stage. Those who want to play the game can get a copy for the PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
