With the second half of October starting up there are some notable games that will come out in the next two weeks. After taking last year off without a major release, players will be able to play the latest game in Ubisoft's flagship franchise: “Assassin's Creed: Origins.” Meanwhile, arguably one of the most anticipated games of the year, “Super Mario Odyssey," is finally nearing its release.

'South Park: The Fractured But Whole'

South Park: The Fractured But Whole” is the sequel to 2014's “South Park: The Stick of Truth” and is based on the long-running and popular animated television series.

It is an RPG developed and published by Ubisoft.

The story features the children of South Park fracturing into two competing superhero groups, following a falling out over a planned film franchise. Players have 12 superhero classes to choose from, as well as being able to pick their gender and race, which will affect how others react to them. The game comes out today for Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and Microsoft Windows.

'Life is Strange: Before the Storm Episode 2'

Life is Strange: Before the Storm Episode 2” is the second episode of the game that continues the events of episode one, which came out in August. Players will continue their journey as Chloe Price in this prequel to 2015's “Life is Strange.” Episode 2 comes out on October 19 on Xbox One, PS4 and Microsoft Windows.

'Assassin's Creed: Origins'

Publisher Ubisoft and developer Ubisoft Montreal are taking players to the Ptolemaic period of ancient Egypt with the tenth mainline game in the series, “Assassin's Creed: Origins.” The open-world action adventure game has players take control of a Medjay named Bayek as it explores the start of the long-running conflict between assassins and templars.

The series has made some changes with the addition of new features like an eagle scout, revised combat mechanics, an arena-based combat area and new RPG elements like leveling up and skills trees. It releases worldwide on October 27 for Xbox One, PS4 and Microsoft Windows.

'Super Mario Odyssey'

Super Mario Odyssey” is the latest game in the Super Mario series developed and published by Nintendo.

The game is a 3D platform that has primarily open-ended, exploration-based gameplay. It features numerous worlds that Mario must travel through with his possessed hat named Cappy in an effort to rescue Princess Peach from Bowser. The game comes out on October 27 for the Nintendo Switch.

'Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus'

Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus” is the sequel to 2014's “Wolfenstein: The New Order.” It is being developed once again by MachineGames and published by Bethesda Studios. The eighth main entry in the series follows protagonist B.J. Blazkowicz as he fights against Nazi rule in an alternate 1961 America.

The game is a single-player first-person shooter that features a variety of weapons as the story plays out in a system of chapters. “Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus” comes out on October 27 for Xbox One, PS4 and Microsoft Windows. It will release on the Switch sometime next year.
