Dissidia Final Fantasy” is the latest installment in the crossover fighting game spinoff. The series first started out on the PSP before Square Enix brought it over to the arcades. Now, the game will be getting a PlayStation 4 port early next year, complete with updated models and some new game modes. In line with this, the developers are still creating new playable characters for the game. Just recently, they’ve announced Cloud Of Darkness from “FF3” as the next fighter in the game. While she retains most of her moves, she has a few new tricks up her sleeve.

Another challenger

According to Twinfinite, Square Enix has dropped a new trailer showcasing Cloud of Darkness in the game. She was one of the original playable characters in the spinoff series, so it’s only natural that the developers would use her old moves. She still uses her two tentacles as whips when attacking enemies at close-to-mid range. Meanwhile, she can also fire bursts of dark energy that can strike opponents at a much longer range. That said, she seems to fall under the Specialist class that has a lot of options during combat.

Before Cloud of Darkness, Square Enix revealed Noctis as a playable character during Tokyo Game Show 2017. He specializes in warping around the field and hitting enemies with quick strikes.

Noctis makes the perfect Assassin character in the game. It also seems that both characters will be part of the PlayStation 4 version, so that’s something to look forward to.

The third entry

“Dissidia Final Fantasy” is the latest entry in the “Dissidia” fighting series. The game combines both RPG and fighting game elements to deliver a unique gaming experience.

In the original two games, you could customize your own play style and create your own move sets. In this version, however, you will have to choose which character’s move-set you want to use before the battle. While Brave and HP attacks return, each fighter will only have access to one HP attack.

Another major change is the 3v3 battle system, making fights a bit more hectic.

Players will have to work together and balance their team if they want to win, unlike the previous games where battles were only 1v1. The PlayStation 4 version will have some new modes aside from straightforward fighting, which should provide players with some new challenges. “Dissidia Final Fantasy” is slated to launch for the PlayStation 4 on Jan. 30, 2018. You can also play the standard version in selected arcades.
