"Destiny 2" is continuing to enthuse new and old fans alike and it looks like the time is growing near for the first expansion pack for the popular first-person shooter. There is a good chance that the new expansion pack should follow the same pattern as the first "Destiny" video game and that means the expansion pack should arrive by early December.

'Destiny' expansion pack

The Release Date for the first "Destiny" video game was on September 9, 2014. That game saw the first expansion pack, titled "The Dark Below," exactly three months after the release of the game, hitting on December 9, 2014.

With that in mind, "Destiny 2" went on sale on September 6, 2017, just over one month ago. With that in mind, it seems like the first expansion pack for the sequel will hit stores by around December 5, 2017.

The reason for the day sooner than the three-month timeline has to do with the pattern of releases for the first "Destiny" video game. As mentioned, "The Dark Below" expansion pack came out on December 9, 2014, which was a Tuesday.

After that, there were three more expansion packs for "Destiny." The second came was "House of Wolves" on Tuesday, May 19, 2015. Then, "The Taken King" hit on Tuesday, September 15, 2015. Finally, one year later, "Rise of Iron" came out on Tuesday, September 20, 2016.

With that in mind, Bungie already confirmed that the reset day for "Destiny 2" would also take place on Tuesdays. Since they are resetting on Tuesdays, and if they follow the same three-month timeline from release date to the first expansion pack, that means that "Osiris" should come out on December 5, 2017.

Another reason to expect December 5 for 'Destiny 2'

The idea that the "Osiris" expansion pack for "Destiny 2" could come out on December 5, 2017, also has to do with an announcement of a weapon. When Bungie releases expansion packs for "Destiny" they also release new weapons as soon as the DLC hits for gamers. With that in mind, there has already been promotional material advertising a new weapon.

This new weapon is the Exotic Rifle known as "Coldheart." The promotional material indicates that "Coldheart" will become available for gameplay starting on December 5, 2017. Since there is a new weapon advertised to become available just three months from the date that "Destiny 2" went on sale, it is a good bet that this could be part of the first expansion pack for the popular first-person shooting game as well.
