Blizzard Entertainment has good news for all “Overwatch” fans. The developer is giving everyone who owns a gaming PC, Xbox One, or PlayStation 4 the opportunity to play the highly popular game for free. According to a report from Game Rant, the Overwatch Free Weekend event will start on September 22 until September 25.

The game’s full roster of 25 heroes will be available to play, and it also includes 16 maps and a number of game modes like Quick Play, Custom Games, and the Arcade. The new Deathmatch mode will also be available. Players will be able to shoot their way around the new Chateau Guillard map, which is the Widowmaker’s home.

Players can level up and earn loot boxes that can be used later on if they officially purchase the game.

What are the requirements?

There are some requirements for PC players. The Overwatch Free Weekend is only available in America, Europe, and Asia. “Overwatch” PC players that are located in Korea are not allowed to play the game. However, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One players worldwide are allowed to play. Progress and loot boxes are different with trophies and achievements because in the Overwatch Free Weekend, trophies and achievements have been disabled and cross-platform play is also not available.

How to download on PC?

To download “Overwatch” on PC, players must first install the Blizzard Battle.net desktop application and run it.

Players can sign up for a new free account or use an existing Blizzard account. After logging in, players must click the “Overwatch” icon located on the left-hand side of the Blizzard desktop application. After selecting the icon, players can choose a region from the drop-down menu, then click “Install,” then the installation process will automatically begin.

How to download on PlayStation 4?

For PlayStation 4 users, they have to turn-on their console and log into their preferred local user. Then head to the PlayStation Store and search for the game “Overwatch.” Then select “Overwatch Free Weekend” from the results and click download. After that, the installation process will automatically begin and users can start playing the game.

How to download on Xbox One?

For Xbox One users, they have to open and log into their Xbox Live account. After that, head to the Xbox One Store and search for the game “Overwatch.” In the results, select “Overwatch: Origins Edition” and click “free trial.” After that, a download and installation process will automatically begin, and after completing the installation, the game is ready to launch.
