“PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds” finally did it. The well-known battle royale game successfully reached the summit of Steam’s concurrent player peakon Sunday, surpassing “Dota 2” as the No. 1 game of all time.

The King of the Game

“PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds” had 1,349,584 gamers Playing The Game. “Dota 2,” the game previously holding the crown had a total of 1,291,328 players last March 2016. Before claiming the throne as The king of the games, “PUBG” beat other games such as “Counter-Strike: Global Offensive,” “Fallout 4,” and “Grand Theft Auto V.”

Last week, “PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds” had one million players.

It took the game just eight days to get a further 200,000. This record is not bad for a game that was just released last March. However, the game’s developer still thinks it still pales in comparison to another popular game - “League of Legends.”

New changes

There were new updates for “PUBG” that included an addition to its first-person leaderboards, foggy weather conditions, new buildings on the map, and a new gun. Players also started to play the game after 150,000 cheaters were banned from playing the game using BattlEye.

BattlEye, an anti-cheat client used by a lot of games, “PUBG” included. It automatically bans gamers who use cheats such as aimbots and other hacks. The bans imposed by the game are permanent.

If an account is banned, a player needs to buy another copy of the game using another Steam account. If you try to cheat again, you will be banned again. Even if a cheater manages to slip through BattlEye, the game also has a report button that players can use to flag another player they suspect is cheating.

Exciting addition

The new desert map of “PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds” is still a few months away but a lot of players cannot contain their excitement. There were already a lot of teaser images for the new map, but there is no exact information on when it will come out. The information is usually posted on Reddit.

The new desert map does not only include interesting names for its different cities and towns, but it also shows a huge difference from “PUBG’s” original map which makes it more exciting.

The new patch for the game made a lot of players delighted, thanks to the brand new set of buildings added to its map. This new map is called Kameshki and is close to Stalber. Kameshki now offers plenty of loot opportunity.

There are still further updates planned for the game before it reaches its full release this year.
