Video Games have played a significant role in shaping our society today. Gone are the days when people would look down on the gaming community as the solace of the lazy and bums. Now, even several academic institutions are embracing video games and incorporating eSports in their programs.

The gaming world has also served as a refuge for some people who would like to escape the real world momentarily. Some find solace in the unreal world of games to de-stress. There are many positive things that video games have made in the lives of many people.

One of them is the frontman of the iconic band Korn—Jonathan Davis.

Dark days with the disorder

In a video released by Glixel, Jonathan Davis shares how video games have helped him in his blood clotting disorder. In 2006, the Korn frontman contracted a rare disease called ITP or Idiopathic Thrombocytopenic Purpura. It is an auto-immune disorder that alters the level of platelets in the body.

He caught the disease from an antibiotic he took. The singer reveals that he thought he was going to die during that period of his life. According to him, video games are his therapy, which makes him forget what is going on. Davis shares that during those times, he threw himself into music and video games. The combination works fine, and he survived that dark and low point of his life.

Gaming Rig

In terms of types of games, the Korn frontman is playing an entirely different genre from his music. Many would assume because of the kind of music he sings and plays, and he is into first-person shooter or horror titles like “Call of Duty” or “Resident Evil.” Interestingly, Davis enjoys colorful titles like “Slime Rancher,” “Toy Story 3,” “Halo,” “Destiny,” and “Attack on Titan” to name a few.

To Davis, these games let him cool off after a hard day’s work.

The singer also discloses that when the band is on tour, he will bring his Xbox One along with other consoles. This enables him to play and also connect with his kids online. Davis also mentions about having a couple of video game consoles on his bus. This way he can play different kinds of games wherever he goes and whenever he wants.

It was also revealed in the video that the Korn frontman likes the kids’ games the most. He shares that he just play to play. The latest video shows the other side of Jonathan Davis that most people do not know. While he is a hardcore rock artist, the man has a totally different taste when it comes to video games.
