In an article I wrote previously, the teaser of the upcoming 'Kamen Rider Climax Fighters' game for the PS4 was shown after the end credits of the 1st episode of Kamen Rider Build. I also talked about the history of Kamen Rider games and how most of them are only available to Japan. Thanks to the PS4 being non-region specific, fans from the US are able to play the game.

However, an announcement made by Bandai Namco Entertainment turned out to be a big game changer in the history of Kamen Rider games. For the first time in the franchise, KR Climax Fighters will have an English release for countries outside of Japan!

KRCF Game Information

Kamen Rider Climax Fighters is a fighting action game that showcases a 4-man multiplayer gameplay through 2-on-2 versus matches, with the option to only do 1-on-1. This feature also allows connecting of four controllers onto the PS4 console, enabling split-screen multiplayer. Also a first in the KR game history is the online play, making multiplayer gaming with online friends and other people possible, making the experience more interesting. It hasn't been confirmed if a story-mode will be included in the release.

All respective Heisei-era main Kamen Riders are playable in the game, starting from Kamen Rider Kuuga, Agito, Ryuki, Faiz, Blade, Hibiki, Kabuto, Den-O, Kiva, Decade, Double, OOO, Fourze, Wizard, Gaim, Drive, Ghost, Ex-Aid, and this year's Kamen Rider Build.

This includes the riders' basic forms, mid-season forms, and final forms. No information is known on adding the secondary, supporting, and enemy Heisei-era riders in the game, but considering the fact that they were present in the previous KR games, having them in this upcoming game is likely possible. However, the Showa-era riders might not have an appearance as the trailer seems to focus more on the Heisei riders.

Lastly, the localization of the game refers to translating the menus and dialogues into English and adding subtitles during voice overs as the Japanese vocals are left as is. This helps the non-Japanese speaking players to fully understand what's going on in the game.

KRCF Full Trailer

The video above from Bandai Namco is the full trailer of KR Climax Fighters.

It starts with a match-up between Faiz and Ex-Aid, and then Kuuga versus Build. The story focuses on the riders fighting solely for their own beliefs, with emphasis on the clash of each rider's individuality and characteristics. A series of sample game footage are then shown with riders saying their iconic catchphrases including Build, Ex-Aid, and Double.

The game will be released on the 7th of December this year. Pre-orders have already started, so if you don't want to miss out, make sure to secure your copy of the game as soon as possible. See you next time!
