It looks like indie game developer IllFonic and game publisher Gun Media are hard at work to bring more immersive and spine-chilling experiences to players in the Friday the 13th: The Game.” Recently, the studio revealed its content plans for the popular survival video game in the remaining months of 2017 until early next year. It also gave an update on the much-awaited single-player mode of the game.

Via the game’s official forum, the development team showed a roadmap depicting the developer's plans to release exciting content packs and major expansion in “Friday the 13th: The Game” in the near future.

The roadmap also indicates the Spring Break 1984 costume pack, the new playable Part IV Jason, along with the Jarvis house map, and free emote pack.

What’s coming next

In addition to the DLC packs previously announced by IllFonic, fans can look forward to seven other packs coming by Halloween and an additional five in winter. All these will bring in several cosmetic additions, new kills, and more.

In addition, the studio also plans to launch six major updates and expansions beyond the winter season next year. These will include a brand new map, game mode, and the fan-requested single-player mode.

Single-player mode delayed

Sadly enough, the roadmap confirmed the delay in the release of the single-player mode.

This mode was supposedly scheduled for summer 2017 release. However, the developer explained in the forum post that they do not want to launch a new single-player content while it still has a slew of issues to address within the base game.

So, fans can expect to receive the single-player content in spring 2018 at the earliest.

This is somewhat bad news to players who are eager to play this mode. But the good news is that there are tons of new DLC packs coming to keep them hooked in playing the game.

More news

Meanwhile, IllFonic is currently working on a multiplayer first-person zombie shooter called “Dead Alliance.” Initially, the announcement enraged a lot of fans since the console version is still bugged with unresolved problems.

But the studio said that it has a bigger team that will fully focus their attention on the game alone.

On a lighter note, the game earned a spot in Guinness World Records 2018 Gamer's Edition due to its incredible crowdfunding success. It now holds the title as the top crowdfunded video game based on a movie.

The game developer is set to launch the physical copies of “Friday the 13th: The Game” on Xbox One, PS4, and PC on Friday the 13th of October 2017.
