After many years, Square Enix is finally relaunching one of their most beloved RPG titles ever. “Secret Of Mana” is considered as one of the beloved role playing game of 90’s. The game was first released in 1993, and since then, a lot of players still recall playing it from their childhood. It wasn’t the first title of the “Mana” series, however; the combination its story with the role-playing mechanics made it classic for gamers at the time.
The “Secret of Mana” Remake is set to be a full 3D version of the original game. Is Square Enix changing anything from the original games?
Remake’s Key features
According to the official “Secret of Mana” Steam page, there are several key features in this re-imagined 3D version.
The first thing is the on the features list is the 3D graphics. This is the most noticeable change in the remake version. Adapting the modern day standards of the role-playing genre, Square Enix has revamped the design and overall vivid feel of the new 3D adventure.
The developers have also upgraded the original gameplay. According to the Steam page, the company worked hard to give “Secret of Mana” all the modern action role-playing gameplay. They didn’t reveal much about the upgrades, but fans can expect some major changes in the remake.
Downloadable content
Other features included in the “Secret of Mana” Steam page are DLCs that will be available in-game. All in all, there is three available content mentioned so far.
The first content is the Moogle Suit DLC. The when downloaded, the player will be able to equip the Moogle suit armor. This will change their appearance and may allow them to look like Square Enix lovable character, Moogle.
The second one is the Tiger Two Piece DLC. After the content is downloaded, the player will be allowed to wear the armor in-game. The special two piece outfit is described to change Primm’s appearance but didn’t say anything about the other characters.
The last one is the Tiger Suit DLC. After downloading, the tiger suit will be able to be equipped by the player.
It is said to change the appearance of Popoi and Randi in the game. However, just like with Primm, it didn’t specify other characters. This makes it seem that like the armors are exclusive to certain characters.
“Secret of Mana” Remake is an upcoming game by Square Enix. It was originally released in 1993 for the SNES. It follows the journey of three heroes set to prevent the empire in conquering the world. The 3D remake version will be available for the PlayStation 4 and PS Vita. It is scheduled to be released on February 15, 2018.
