God Of War” is poised as one of the biggest first-party exclusive titles coming to PS4 and PS4 Pro early next year. The next entry in the franchise will be simply epic, and it looks like it could amaze the fans.

That is according to Sony Interactive Entertainment (SIE) Vice President for Marketing Asad Qizilbash, at least. The top executive recently went to the GameStop Expo in Las Vegas where he revealed some interesting pieces of information regarding the development of the new “God of War” game.

Phenomenal team working on GOW

First off, Qizilbash stated that the company has the utmost confidence in the upcoming title knowing that a phenomenal team is working hard on it at Santa Monica Studio.

He added saying that the early footage indicates an incredible output so far and the game will turn out to be breathtaking, it will “blow people away.”

More interesting details to know

Apparently, the next “God of War” title will be different from the last three games in the series. Game developer Santa Monica Studio wants players to feel and care for the main protagonist and anti-hero Kratos in his calmer times.

Players will also see the combat change in an interesting way. The upcoming game will feature a one versus one or one versus two as opposed to one against multiple enemies in the predecessor games.

So, the game will now have an experiential, calculated, and instinctive feel to it. This, by far, will be the most brutal GOW game ever created in the series.

Qizilbash also dropped an exciting detail about Kratos’ Leviathan Axe, which was also forged by the same dwarfs (Sindri and Brokkr) who made Thor’s hammer. According to the SIE Marketing executive, Kratos’ weapon will be upgradable.

Release date leaked in game’s listing

Meanwhile, Kratos’ next adventure title is currently slated for an early 2018 window.

However, a recent game listing by Amazon indicates a possible release date including the game’s Deluxe Edition.

In the said listing, the game is dated for release on June 30, 2018. If this leaked listing is anything to go by, it could pose a delay in the release of the third-person action-adventure title from early 2018 launch to Q2 of 2018.

But many expressed their doubts that this is the actual release and instead it’s possibly a placeholder date for the game’s pre-order.

Digital Deluxe Edition items

The listing also revealed a Digital Deluxe Edition available for pre-purchase. This special pack is priced at $69.99, and it comes with a digital soundtrack and art book, a PS4 dynamic theme, Exile’s Guardian shield skin, a death’s vow armor set for both Kratos and Atreus and other items.

Notably, Amazon deleted the Digital Deluxe Edition from the listing but the leaked release date of "God of War" remains on the page until now.
