Goku and Vegeta achieved this form after training with Whiz and they used it to defeat Golden Frieza during his invasion of Earth. It is unknown if these characters will be separate from their based counterparts, or character palette swaps.

On top of that, SSJ Blue Goku can increase his power level by entering "Super Saiyan Blue Kaioken," a transformation first seen in during the latter's fight against Hit in the "Universe 6 vs Universe 7 Tournament" arc in the "Super" series. The two characters will be joined by Krillin, Piccolo, Future Trunks, Son Gohan, Android 18, Android 16, Frieza, Cell, and Majin Buu in the game.

New story mode details teased soon

Bandai Namco announced more details for "Dragon Ball FighterZ's" story mode in the September issue of V-Jump magazine. The Japanese publisher first teased the game's plot at the end of the Gamescom 2017 trailer and many speculated that it is an alternate version of the famed "Android" saga.

The story featured android versions of Son Goku, Vegeta, Piccolo, and Krillin destroying the whole city in an alternate future timeline. Fans also saw the demise of the Z warriors as their new enemy will clone them into becoming the new android army.

The "Android" saga is a popular arc from "Dragon Ball Z" that depicts Future Trunks' mission to go to the past and warn the Z warriors of the impending attacks from Androids 17 and 18. Both androids destroyed the future and killed everyone on their path.

The game publisher will launch the closed beta test for the game next month and lucky gamers will have a chance to play it for four days. Players can now register for the closed beta and they can choose nine playable characters during the test. The open beta test is scheduled to launch in January next year.

Gamers can also pre-order the "CollectorZ Edition" of the game which includes a 18cm Son Goku figure, three art board, and steel book casing. The game will launch in February 2018 for the PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
